As a boy growing up in California, Frank Valencia dreamed of someday owning his own business.
Today, after a successful career in marketing and sales, Frank has fulfilled his dream as franchisee of the new Express Employment Professionals office in Commerce, CA.
From Expert Partner to Entrepreneur
“Frank has been the expert his clients relied on for many years,” said Dan Gunderson, Express regional franchising executive. “He is an energetic, entrepreneurial, team-oriented, customer-focused, strategic thinker who thrives in diverse working environments and a perfect fit for Express.”
Born in Jaslisco, Mexico, but raised in the U.S., Frank most recently worked as a director at Uno Agency, a marketing services firm serving global clients in the beer, wine, and spirits industry. Previously, he was the general manager and director of event marketing at Batanga, a leading digital media company serving the U.S. and Latin American markets. In 2002, Frank was a founding member and managing partner at LatCom, LLC, an operator of media and entertainment brands for college students.
A Vision for Serving Commerce Businesses and Workers
“Frank sees the Commerce territory in Los Angeles as an area of great opportunity for commercial/light industrial jobs, as well as administrative positions in the temporary staffing model,” Dan said. “He is fluent in Spanish and understands Hispanic culture, which is a good fit for the Commerce market.”
Frank has a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Fordham University, and completed the Financial Management Program at GE Capital.
A Love for Family and Community
Frank is married to his college sweetheart, Amana, and they have three daughters. Luna is 5 years old and their twins, Maya and Aria, are 2.
The Express business model appeals to him, because it allows him to grow a business without working evenings and weekends when his wife and children need him.
Frank also likes the Express culture of caring that encourages volunteerism in the community.
He is the chair of the Delta Delta Co-Ed Fraternity, Inc. Board of Directors, a volunteer organization that serves more than 300 alumni in the greater Los Angeles area and current undergraduate members at Cal Poly Pomona and UC Irvine.
