Express Employment Professionals’ 35th year of business proved to be one of shattered records, innovative technology and topping lists.
The staffing firm saw a record $3.56 billion in sales in 2018, up 5 percent from the previous year and found jobs for more than 566,000 people, a 5 percent increase year-over-year. Every time Express places a job seeker with a quality client company, that paycheck helps support four other people on average. In 2018, roughly 2.2 million people were positively impacted because of employment alone through Express.
“Our franchise owners, their teams and everyone at Express International Headquarters work tirelessly day in and day out to help make sure families can put food on the table,” said Express CEO Bill Stoller. “What sets Express apart from other companies is our culture of servanthood. We believe our continued success comes from the idea that if we put people first, everything else will fall in line.”
Express now boasts more than 800 franchise locations in the United States, Canada and South Africa, and made it easier than ever for job seekers in North America to connect with local offices through the rollout of the ExpressJobs app. This much anticipated app was a significant step in the digital transformation of the company, offering real-time, location-based services for job seekers and current Express associates.
“Technology is an extremely vital component in today’s modern workforce, but we wanted to utilize it in a way that maintained a personalized recruiting process,” Stoller said. “At the end of the day, job seekers want to know their applications don’t disappear into a black hole, and we are proud to say the ExpressJobs app streamlines that process, quickly matching top talent with exceptional companies.”
As Express constantly strives to provide the best applicant experience possible, the company was recently rewarded with ClearlyRated’s Best of Staffing® Talent Award for the third consecutive year. This distinction is the only award in North America that recognizes staffing agencies based solely on ratings provided by clients and job seekers.
Express also received several other awards throughout the year, including being named one of Forbes’ Best Franchises to Buy and landing on Staffing Industry Analyst’s Largest Global Staffing Firms list. Entrepreneur recognized Express as the top staffing franchise on its annual Franchise 500 Ranking for the eighth consecutive year, as well as one of the top five business services franchises and top franchises to buy under $150,000.
By placing a priority on job site safety, the company also earned the Safety Standard of Excellence mark, which is part of a national program developed by the American Staffing Association and the National Safety Council to promote industry-wide safety best practices.
In December, Express International Headquarters was recognized for its exemplary company culture as one of The Oklahoman’s Top Workplaces and CEO Bill Stoller was further recognized with a leadership award from the media outlet. The corporate headquarters provides 100 percent health insurance coverage for employees and 75 percent for dependents and prides itself on being the only entity in Oklahoma to subsidize up to $5,000 annually per dependent for dependent care. New this year, Express will also provide up to $10,000 in adoption assistance for corporate employees to help make the process more affordable.
“Whether at our international headquarters or at one of our more than 800 offices, we had an incredible 2018 with so many milestones and successes,” Stoller said. “We have big plans for 2019, which include technology upgrades, associate appreciation programs and continuing to strive to put a million people to work, annually, just to name a few. This is an exciting time to be part of the Express family!”
