The Association for Talent Development (ATD) recently honored Express Employment Professionals with an Excellence in Practice Award for its New Franchisee Training program.
ATD’s Excellence in Practice program recognizes organizations for results achieved using practices and solutions from the entire scope of talent development. Awards are presented to organizations with proven practices that have delivered measurable business results.
Express’ New Franchisee Training program was developed after the company’s training department, Express University, heard about the concept at an industry conference. Designed to be learner-centric, the accelerated learning program for new franchise owners was built around the “cruise” theme of Destination Success. Participants make several “destination” stops with pre-learning “travel itineraries” designed for long-term knowledge retention.
The New Franchisee Training program focuses on core performance objectives and key competencies, such as making more effective sales calls, serving clients, recruiting and retention.
“Our New Franchisee Training program aims to set Express franchise owners up for success from the day they open the doors to their office,” said Art Atkinson, Vice President of Express University. “While there is a lot to learn about providing staffing services, we wanted to make sure that the training was fun and inspiring, as well. We are incredibly honored to be recognized by the Association of Talent Development for our hard work.”
ATD received 218 submissions in the fall of 2018 from organizations around the world. Sixty-two awards were given to 46 organizations. Excellence in Practice categories recognized include career development, change management, coaching and mentoring, diversity and inclusion, improving soft skills, integrated talent management, learning and development, learning technologies, management/leadership development, managing the learning function, onboarding, performance improvement, and sales enablement.
Express, along with other award and citation recipients, was honored May 20 at an awards ceremony held during ATD’s International Conference & Exposition in Washington, D.C. Visit td.org for more information about the conference and awards programs.
